Default Viper

The viper is a ranged class with AoE skills which can support the party or give the opposing foes decreased stats or effects. Vipers aren't meant to rush into battle, but stay in the midst of the battlefield to let their AoEs be most effective. Even though the class has an AL of 75 and some resistance to physical and elemental damage, it has the lowest stamina of all classes. It's therefore important to use nest skills to teleport out of the battle when it gets too hot. Get a quick recovery and then enter the battle again.
Vipers have the highest energy regeneration rate with a stunning 5 pips! Use your energy strategicly, because the AoEs are often expensive and don't last for ages.

EQUIPMENT

Energy:
Base 20 energy at 5 pips regeneration.

Weapon:
Thrown, sharp daggers. Two medium sized thrown daggers, resulting in heavier hits and crits or two smaller daggers, resulting in many hits within a smaller ammount of time, but with less damage dealt.

This leaves the player free to mix with skills and weapons to find the perfect match for ones strategy.

Poison Edge
Piercing: 10-15(requires 9 Dagger Mastery)
Range: Long, though not as long as a Long Bow. A range between the Short- and the Long Bow.

Upgrades: Blade & Hilt

Armor:
75AL (+10 vs. physical)

My friend Shredder's armor from TMNT is a good example of what the Viper armor may look like.

Vipers wear a light weight armor as the assassins, but with a different look and with medium pauldrons(always). They prefere masks and bandanas as head gear, but they also use leight weight helmets.

Insignias:
Viper’s | +2 energy for every foe who's affected by your poison
Cobra’s | +10(vs. physical) while attacking, additional +5(vs. elemental) while using an attack skill
Serpent’s | +5 armor for every active nest
Boa's| +5AL for each attacking foe

Carnivore(Primary)
For each point spent on this primary attribute, the viper gains an additional 1% chance to hit. Vipers also gain health whenever they score a critical hit with their weapons. They gain 1 point of health with Carnivore at 3 and above, 2 health with Carnivore at 8 and above, and 3 health for Carnivore at 13 and above.

Viper's Prey
Stun your target for 2...4(6) secs and steal 40...50(60) health.

Shuriken Mastery
Boost the Shuriken Mastery attribute to boost the damage the Viper inflicts with thrown daggers and the chance to land a critical hit with a thrown dagger. Many skills, especially thrown attack skills, become more effective with increased Shuriken Mastery. This attribute also improves your chance of performing a Swirl Attack, making enemies in the area of your target bleed.

Irresistible Fangs thrown attack
If this attack hits, you strike for +5...17...20 damage. If Irresistible Fangs is blocked, your target is poisoned and takes 5...17(20) damage.

Poison brewing
Increase the Poison Brewing attribute to improve the duration and effectiveness of Poisons and other skills that make a single enemy vulnerable to the Viper's strikes.

Silencing Poison skill
Coats your weapon with a poison that silences your target for 3...6(8) secs after a critical hit. This poisons consists of 3 doses.

Nest building
Nest Building focuses on improving a Viper's defensive Stances and effects of nest building skills.

The nest building skills are AoEs(Area of Effect) skills which grant the viper and the party members a bonus, give foes in the AoE decreased stats or other effects or affect any player in the AoE. Some Skills lets the viper teleport between different nests.

Thorny Nest elite skill
For 10...20(30) secs, foes in the area of this nest begin to bleed for 10...15(20) secs

It resembles an assassin, throws daggers (and so it isn't at melee range), but it wears more armor than an assassin?

Oh, and whats this about extra chance to hit? Chance to hit is affected only by dodge and stray. So are you saying that you can still hit them even if your daggers land somewhere where they were the second before? Oh, I think I understand, you just increase the attributes and it works.

Why the irony and the hatred in your letters?
Please leave a message with a friendly response, even if you don't agree with my class. You will also be taken more seriously , no doubt my friend.

It is a game full of magic, so why are you asking?
Anime ninjas and the like can guide thrown weapons, but not
fantasy characters?
The assassin's job is to deal massive ammounts of damage and then reappear to confuse the enemy so the assassin doesn't get too much damage. The assassin has also got many skills which boost their agility. The Viper, however, has only the ability to teleport between the nests, leaving the teleport area abvious for the enemy if the Viper doesn't outsmart them.
Why more armor? First of all the obvious lack of agility boosting skills. Like the Paragon this class hasn't got the best DPS, but it has got supportive skills, therefore it has more armor to make up for the lack of DPS. What would Paragons be with only 70 armor?

How does this viper character use magic to increase his chance of hitting? That's my question. Did I miss somewhere that you automatically have a certain chance of missing with these throwing daggers?

I don't know what you want me to say that you'd see as a friendly response. Ok, I think I know. Here it goes. Viper's Prey sounds like it's be a lot of fun. If they introduced stun (which would make daze look like a joke) then we could put that on character secondary and shred everything. Shred, hehe.

Hehe! I'm sorry, but I'm no Oracle. How does a mesmer get quicker at casting spells with only applying increased stats?
How does an assassin get more critical strikes by only applying increased stats?
By practicing
By friendly I mean a response without harsh irony, but I see that you've learned how to, at least partly.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Viper's Prey is a skill linked to the primary attribute, so it can't be used by other classes. I figured myself that it would be too good combined with other classes.

So your class would have a much higher chance of hitting targets that are on the move / dodging (obviously block overrides), and it would be explained by being the first class who can attack them where they WILL be.

Viper's Prey would still be accessible to all classes at 2 seconds of stunning and 40 health steal, and from the looks of it it's not a throwing dagger attack or attack at all, which would be MUCH better than Gale.

True, but the extra goodness will only be availabel for the Viper class.
When it comes to targets on the move - they're always hard to hit, whatever your stats may be. Maybe I should write that next to the skill.
It's not easy to hit a fleeing ranger while being a rogue running behind the target with speed increasing skills, nor is it easy to hit a moving target while being any other class. Let's say that it only counts for mobile targets and targets who move slowly or within a small area

Well I certainly won't object anymore. Oh, but maybe Anet could change my mind easily by giving Kershh another quest, this time for a PvE Stun skill. Nobody would object to stun in PvE!

We are talking about WC3 kind of stun right?

Also, sorry that this is turning into a chat log. I should let others comment before posting more.

You got me right!
I want to stun those monsters and my opponents and deliver a deadly blow!
A stun skill would be very nice.
No, don't be sorry. You're free to comment as much as you feel like!

Yeah, sorry! My bad. I thought about calling it simply "thrown" like in WoW, but it doesn't fit the GW style, nor does "thrown dagger mastery" sound good enough. If you got a good name, please let me know!

I think circus knife throwers are also called twirlers, but it sounds rather silly.

1) Unless it's really short everyone in the area is too big a range.
2) How are you hitting everyone in the area with a single dagger.

Also for the % improvement on hitting moving foes, why not make the dagger fly faster?
Faster projectiles have a larger chance to strike moving targets.

Viper’s | +5 energy for every foe who's affected by your poison
Hmmm, if I put this on every armor part, that could generate soooooo much energy.
Make it health.
Or reduce it to +2 or 3 and make it armor.

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, maybe a bit too much energy, let's make it +2, but still energy.
I may change the name to shuriken mastery. That's the japanese throwing knives.

2) The Viper only hits targets close to his main target with his two knives because of the way they are thrown. They fly in the air and meet while making a circle, then hit the target from two sides while rotating. I've seen it in an anime, but I don't remember which one and which episode : /
At least I've got good ol' Paint to assist me:

Not at all. There have never been an instagib class in GW and there will never be one.
You've got unlimited ammo, but no one hit kills.
